How much better is the Golf R than the GTI?

After waiting for almost three years... How much better is the R compared to the award winning GTI?

Better car, but not better value for the money IMO.

Depends on how badly you want/need AWD. You can get more hp out of a GTI than the R comes with for way less than the cost difference, but the GTI will always be FWD.

If you look at it vs a TTS it's a bargain too.

Drive them both in the winter then tell me which is better. Or take a rip through twisty roads. AWD > FWD
