    A little history:
I bought this car two years ago, after spending some time looking for a Passat wagon. I had been aware of this car and some of its history for years, so when I discovered it was for sale, buying was pretty much a no brainer. It was the right colour, had the right equipment, and was in the right condition.

As of now (November 2012) I have driven less than 200km since buying it. I drove it once that first summer, then parked it so I could do some maintenance work and upgrades on the car over the winter. Due to various things, I didn’t work on the wagon as much as I would have liked, and all the work took a lot longer than expected. Finally got everything buttoned up and road ready in July of last year.

Took the car out twice, including the trip to have its mechanical and insurance inspection. It aced the inspection, so I was able to take it out for one drive in August. That was to the local VW show last year. And the head gasket failed on that trip.

I parked the car for the year, and ordered up some parts. I have everything needed to repair the head gasket, including all of the new head bolts. I also figured that since the engine would be apart anyway, I might as well get everything taken of. So I also have all of the replacement timing chains, guides, and tensioners, as well as an aluminum replacement “crack pipe” for the cooling system. All parts are brand new, and as of now have not been installed yet.

    Reason for Selling:
There are a few other projects that need to get taken care of, and I just don’t have the time to get this wagon to where I want it. So it’s time to find a new home.

    Price:
$3900 OBO - I'm motivated, so throw an offer my way!

The car is in my garage in the Edmonton area, ready to be loaded onto a trailer.

    Thanks for looking!
