    Wheel Spacers

Where did you get yours from?

I see on 10mm-12mm ones they add some extra steel that looks like it extends the hub (I think that's what its called?) Since the 5mm ones don't use this would you run into issues? Sorry for the n00b questions never had them before!

    I found these ones:

What spacers do you think I should run if currently et 45?
This guy is at et 35 but not lowered:

So I assume that would mean 4 10mm ones to take me to et 35 at all 4 corners.

If you want ET35 total, then your wheels at ET45 + 10mm at each corner would do it.

As for your question about why the hub piece is added only to the thicker ones, the stock hub sticks out more than 5mm so they can't add that with the thinner spacers. It's added because VW hubs/wheels are hubcentric, meaning that piece keeps the wheel aligned on the hub properly. The thicker spacers will be cut on the hub side so they align properly on the hub, then the wheel aligns on that extra piece on the spacer.
