    1.8L issue and vr6 question

Hey, I've ran into a small issue with my gf's 1.8L mk3 golf when I shut the car off. It doesn't seem to shut off right away, it putts 2 to 6 times then the engine fully stops after I turned the car off. Not sure what the issue is. And it seems to hold the revs a lot when it starts and idles it fluctuates up and down from 1000 to 2000 rpm's. Anyone know why these issues are occuring? This car has been sitting for 2 months old gas in it and gets turned on once or twice a week for a quick drive.

And finally my vr6 when I depress the clutch pedal there's a noisy squeak from the outside of the car, so I know its not the pedal. What would that be possibly so I have an idea?

Check timing on the 1.8l. Usually " Dieseling" on shut down is timing related.

Could be the release level squeeking... if you got time today swing by my work and i can have a listen

i'll probs stop by another time for my clutch squeak as i have to go to milton today
for the 1.8L is this a serious issue or something that can be ignored for a bit as i want to continue to start the car every once in a while so it runs.
