Limp Mode - Code 1550 - What do I do?

I've read lots about limp mode but really need some practical advice on what to do about cleaning the EGR. I rent a condo in Burlington and don't really have the space to attempt cleaning it myself. Also, I'm not sure of the upper body strength for this kind of automotive work but I'm pretty sure this girl doesn't have it. Is there any reasonable place to take my 99 Golf TDI in the Burlington area? I just did the timing belt so I'm kinda low of car repair funds but I'm also tired of putting the car in 3rd to get up the skyway.
