haha naw, think of it this way.

the power of a stage3 APR kit and just as reliable, for less then the 6gs they want. plus you didnt have to buy the motor.

more torque, and the satisfaction that when you win or lose you have the SOHC 8v and the person racing you most likely has a newer better motor hahaha

with the 12v's its either 172 at the crank or 178 at the crank...I think its the VR's that came in the Corrado's that had 178 and that was due to a less restrictive Catalytic Converter

That sounds right to me. I've done a few vr/mk2 swaps for customers. They usually get in the low 15's with no probelms, with a stock vr. I think that's very good for any stock V6, but still it's no race car or anything.

turboaba, hes not even bragging about something he`s got already, hes bragging about something that he MIGHT do in the next year. Thats the best!!!

but thats one of the reasons for having a worked 8v , when i happen to lose to a more powerful car, i can still say... too bad i have a 1.8L SOHC 8v and it took either 2-3-4times the valves to beat me, 2 or 3 or more times the displacement and double the cams

Hating 8v is like smack talking all VW dubbers. The 8v is what made vw the company it is today. We are the Back Bone of the Vw community .
