Have you charged the battery? Typically a clicking like that is because the battery is too dead to supply enough current to spin the starter.
4 years and 126k km's (and over 30 track days) later, no issues. Subaru must have learned how to build an engine, or I just got lucky :D

Look for signs of the leak... it could be a hose, the pump or the rack itself.
If you're leaking that much that fast, you should be able to see the source of the leak really easily.
It might, but you already said it shifts great with the engine off. I would suspect that if it was in the linkage for the shifter you would find it sucked all the time.
