Hey guys,

been a while!

Anyways I'm back with another dilemma with my 97 Vr6.

Whenever I have the clutch engaged and I"m driving in any gear, I've started to hear what can only be described as a sewing machine sounding rattle coming from under the hood.

Its only present if I have the clutch pedal fully engaged. If I tap it even in the slightest, the sound goes away.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Yanie.

It's not a grinding noise that it makes but a feeling of the linkages rubbing against something when i shift and this causes the car to jerk briefly.

Ok so I'm running koni yellow shocks with neuspeed springs on my mk4 jetta but the drop is only less than an inch. I bought the car like this and was told it isn't ride height adjustable only stiffness. I'd like to get it decently low and the way I see it I have 2 options, buy different springs that will drop the car (eibach) or buy the coilover sleeves but it seems a bit pricey.

Are there any other ways to get my car low on this setup??

Spoke with buddy at DreamTire about why the *(&$ my second set of tires are cupping soo heavily in the rear. He said first off...falkens are aweful for cupping and that they used to be the biggest carrier of them in Southern ONT, but dropped them because of it. Apparently we cannot align the rear ends of our cars...except for shimming something on the innser side of the brake assembly. And that likely, given that I drive in good old Hamilton, that my rear struts are probably shot, and that is causing some sagging in my rear end.

So thats all well and good, but here is what im wondering. Is it, and would it be unsafe, to rotate those cupped rears, with LOADS of tread still on them, to the fronts, with maybe 30-35% tread left? In any arrangement?

I dont know how much milage i could expect to get out of them, but any thoughts?

thanks

Hey guys..

So my power steering lines have bitten the dust; completely rotted out and pissing fluid right at the rack Who would have guessed that these lines are in such demand and so difficult to find at a reasonable price. According to VW Waterloo the high pressure line is no longer being made, and the low pressure (one that goes from reservoir to the steering rack) line will take two days to be shipped and cost $196 at mechanics cost. Luckily I was able to salvage the high pressure line from a parts car, however, the low pressure one is in rough shape. Anyone happen to have one laying around that they are willing to sell me, or know of a good wrecker or parts place that can hook me up with something that will work?

Thanks in advance!!!
